PS-- For the love of god-- can we stop bashing Glenn Gaunt, Pat Julmiste, and Ronnie Banks? What is the point?

Well Glenn Gaunt did quit mid season which did leave this board with a bit of a disdain for Mr Gaunt.

Did this message board actually exist in 1999?

I don't think the discussion is automatically bashing. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging that some guys are better than others. Good-natured discussion of who is better than who is one of the things that makes sports fun to watch. For example, in my post that you quoted, I don't think I "bashed" Ronnie Banks.

I just have a problem with comparisons like the on that started this thread. That original poster obviously wasn't interested in any kind of intelligent conversation or anything like that, he was insulting BJ Daniels and nothing more. It was mean spirited and pretty childish, in my opinion.

the post script was directed at the entire thread in general. This thread was started by someone bashing BJ Daniels. It evolved.

this is the third or fourth iteration of this board (same "owner")-- which was going as far back as 1995 as far as I know. I started posting around 1997 or so after lurking for a while. It was mostly basketball that far back though.

This thread subject is ridiculous.  I'm forced to agree with smazza's take on this.  That's a bad feeling.
