Exactly what happens at this time. If they deem us not good enough does this go to an at large bid or does this have to go to another conference. Even though the Big East is down this year, we are no where near the other conferences that would be considered to fill our shoes. Do you give it to any of these conferences below, where the MAJORITY of the teams are worse then even our last place team? Especially if you bring TCU into the foldBIG EAST 37 West Virginia 41 Pittsburgh 51 Syracuse 59 South Florida 69 Louisville 72 Connecticut 75 Cincinnati 87 RutgersMountain West 3 TCU 27 Utah 40 Air Force 44 San Diego State 67 BYU 124 Colorado State 131 Wyoming 134 UNLV 173 New Mexico WAC 7 Boise State 22 Nevada 30 Hawaii 64 Fresno State 86 Louisiana Tech 92 Idaho 104 Utah State 155 San Jose State 168 New Mexico State Conf USA 50 Central Florida 54 Tulsa 65 East Carolina 66 Southern Miss 79 SMU 82 Houston 114 Marshall 116 UAB 117 UTEP 126 Tulane 141 Rice 182 Memphis

I have never seen anybody except misinformed fans and a few shortsighted columnists claim that the Big East has ever been in danger of losing its BCS bid. Can you show me where any person with any sort of authority on the matter has said it is a possibility? At all? There was plenty of talk last year about extending a seventh BCS bid to the Mountain West Conference, but again, nobody worthwhile said that had anything to do with the Big East. People like to talk of it when the league has down years.....yet the AQ is about the makeup of the WHOLE league. As a whole.....our bottom teams probably do as much for us as our top teams. That is what is holding the MWC back. For all that TCU does.....they don't make up for UNLV or New Mexico. Plus the politics of it would be insane.....the BCS already gets heat from Orin Hatch and a few others.....now you want to take AQ status AWAY from teams in BIG Northeastern Markets....?!?It will never happen. Fans of other conferences pile on, but they dont ever see these numbers. We are a very balanced conferences which is good for the future of the league, just need a couple more teams and a few to get stronger over the coming years. It was never stated by anyone, as far as I know, that it would be used to strip any of the other six conferences of their status.People **** on the Big East nationwide all the time, and the Big East is always the comparison used by proponents of adding a seventh auto-bid conference, so it's easy to think the Big East has been in danger of this, but again, I've never seen anything official that suggests the Big East has anything to worry about it.Like The Brown Bull of Cooley said, the potential political ramifications alone are enough to keep the Big East from being booted.
