I don't always visit this board, but when I do...it gets more and more delusional.  SEC?  Get real.  Stop being homers and be realistic about the future of the prgram.  Besides going into a revamped SEC would be slightly akin to when we went into the BE for basketball.  We'd be bottom third dwellers for the forseeable future.

You need to visit more often, beastie .... Your bubbly personality is sorely missed.

You're very correct.  It would appear that levity around here is at a serious premium.

Mike is doing his damnedest to change that, though ...

Kirk Bohls with Austin American Statesman tweeted:

SEC school source tells me that "A&M is a school worth getting" and could be only school offered. "No nice, neat package sitting out there."

SEC could be a 13-team conference.

Going to 13 teams like that doesn't make much sense.

Works for the MAC. :-)

But I agree... the odd number only works when you don't have divisions.  With two divisions, the SEC will need to add two teams.  My guess would be A&M in the West and Maryland in the East.

SEC = NOT winning a conference title for at least for the next 10-20 years.

I'd rather be in the SEC or ACC even if it means we are not likely to win those conferences anytime soon then win Conference USA or the Sun Belt every year!

I agree that being in a non AGC would be a major step back. But in the SEC we wouldn’t have a realistic chance to win a division for at least 10 years. They’ve won the last 4 NC’s.  In the ACC we would have a fighting chance to be in the race for a conference title, within 5 years.

there is a rumor now that if A&M goes to SEC, OU, and Ok State will go too.

this seems to be worse for us.  If SEC goes west, there will be less open spots in ACC if they expand and are not heavily raided

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
