was it his fault?

was it the fault of leavit?

was it because of the offense we ran?

To answer smazza, probably a combination of many factors. Was the potential there?  Sure it was, but at this level potential means nothing unless you apply yourself all around. Student athletes need to make grades.  When you continually miss practice because you have academic issues and there are other players not too far behind talent wise they will develop while yo stagnate and will pass you. When you miss practice or are suspended continuosly for. Disciplinary reasons # 1 you can't be trusted and #2 you don't develop. When you don't take it upon yourself to dedicate yourself to getting into supreme shape while others of slightly less physical talent do, they will surpass you. For these reasons Ford did himself in. However, a little bad luck from injury had some to do with it. Just because he had a good high school career where he was bigger than most of the kids doesn't mean he can just walk on the field and blow everyone away. He showed glimpses and we probably should have run him more, but I am sure the coaches had their reasons. Probably many reasons that we will never know about.

When he kept failing drug test, then that is nobody's fault but his.

He had two choices

  • stay clean and play NCAA football
  • smoke weed, get caught, and then get kicked off the team

Which option do you think he took?
