Vitale thinks it's joke that these lesser teams are getting hyped and going to the NCAAT while a team going .500 in the Premier league can't get rewarded. He made it pretty clear when he followed up the statement quoted in this thread with something like, "Seton Hall should be in, baby!" As I was watching, I initially thought he was referring to USF and got pretty fired up. Although he did not explicitly have the Bulls in mind, the point he was making applies to us too. Vitale is a booster and follower of USF athletics too.

The conversation started when ESPN was promoting the mid majors and **** doesn't think an okay to good mid major team is better then a good power conference team. Come to think about it Vitale has always stated that opinion. He'll do it again on selection Sunday when those mid majors take spots away from the power conference schools. Florida losing yesterday, Illinois just lost now,Georgetown advancing to the finals,.... I think there are arguments out there, or should be out there, not only for us to get in over mid-majors, but also SEC and Big Ten teams.
