Jeff Cunningham, who played soccer for USF between 1994-1997, is now playing with the US National soccer team. Jeff is hoping to get a spot on the official roster to make the trip to South Africa for the World Cup later this year. The US national team was using the USF soccer field for practice today and everyone wanted to talk to Jeff afterwards. The team will be playing El Salvador on Wednesday at Ray-Jay, for those that didn't know.

After their practice he asked if he could have a USF soccer shirt that he can wear under his jersey for the game and said that he will pull up his jersey and show the shirt on Wednesday if he scores a goal. So of course we got him a shirt. I really hope that he makes the official roster for South Africa and also that he gets a goal on Wednesday.

I'm thinking I should bring a USF flag to the game Wednesday night (along with Old Glory of course).

Good news, but Cunningham needs to go ply his trade overseas and get more experience with different types of soccer.
