Dungy's a 1 star.  I saw him play v Manatee (Ace & Wilder were the stars, clearly).  Given the limited number of schollies available, is it possible Dungy will be welcomed as a walk on (I suspect he can swing the tuition, so that's not an issue).

Having the Dungy's as part of the program would be great...but I don't know if we could justify it on talent, with the limited schollies this year.

BTW, does ANYONE have an update on Plancher's request for another year?

1 Star on Scout means they didn't evaluate him. it's not clever, a lot of people get confused. He's a High 2 star on Rivals and has beefed up since most all of the evaluations.

If he's good enough for a scholarship to Oregon, he can't be too shabby. He has good size.

Have you ever seen defense in the Pac-10?!? ;)

Yeah, it would be fun to take Dad on a few recruiting trips, eh?

lol yeah

Or just have him happen to be at the athletics building during recruit's visits.

I get that.  ESPN doesn't rate him either.  Montague grew from a 1 to 3 star.  Still, from what I saw of Dungy...not impressive.  But I do understand the qualities he'd bring to our program (and I don't mean Dad's involvement...that's not fair to Eric.  But he seems like a winner, with a great attitude).  In Holtz we trust...let's hope Wednesday is Bullriffic.

FSU is still out recruiting us by a large margin.  If they have offered him, I'll take him.  Especially this year, since Fisher has fixed their recruiting issues.

Haha, I can see it now.

Skip Holtz: "And this, guys, is the water fountain you'll be drinking fro.... oh, hey! Well what a surprise, it's Super Bowl winning coach Tony Dungy! Say, Tony, what on Earth are you doing here?"

They're offering him a greyshirt.  Which is deferring enrollment until next year's class.  There is no requirement to take him next year if he agreed to do it, and in fact FSU previously dumped another greyshirt (Anthony Hill) who ended up here.  I doubt they would dump Dungy if he agreed to greyshirt, due to his last name.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
