im concerned about the conditioning for track and field taking a toll and compromising his football shape... is his track and field conditioning good or bad?

In high school if we weren't playing baseball or basketball during football offseason we were required to run track. It helped keep us in shape and when we combined it with weightlifting it definitely made people faster.

We needed to figure out another way to get this kid the ball, the reverse that we tried 6 times this year didn't work at all. How about a bubble screen Canalas?

Would love to see if Coach Holtz could convert Lindsay Lamar into our very own Chris Johnson. Lindsay needs to add 15-20 lbs. this offseason.

you say "add 15-20 lbs." like that is an easy thing to do.  especially someone lindsey's size.

he might add 20 pounds during his whole career at usf.

he wont be a chris johnson anytime soon but he can be an ean randolph.

we need to get this guy converted to the slot WR

Matt, I agree with the slot receiver idea. I don't know if he's gonna be able to hack it as a running back.

Could we convert him into more of a Mardy Gilyard-type guy?

Running back/ wide receiver/ whatever. We just need to get him the ball in open space. Also need to get him stronger.

For all you forty yard time freaks, that equates to a 4.13 second forty yard dash time.

Aka BLAZING

Lindsey is a RB. He'll get stronger as his career goes along. If we can get the O-line to improve. He would do big things as a RB. Look at Dexter McCluster. He's one of the best in the SEC. He's listed at 5-8 165. Lamar is taller(5-9) and faster. There's other small backs out there. Chris Rainey 5-9 175, Jeff Demps 5-8 180, Noel Devine 5-8 176

Lamar was named Big East Athlete of the week in track.

Looks like he has some new company on the track team.

Football players Sterling Griffin, Derrick Hopkins and Kayvon Webster are now training with Lindsey Lamar and the track team.

Can't wait to see what they can do in the 4 x 100m relay.

I always wonder how well Dexter would have done if he had stuck to his original commitment and signed with USF. He changed his verbal to us based on a dream he had. It seems to have worked out very well for him.

Exactly ... we have some on here thinking he needs to add weight.

LL isn't as small (relatively) as some of you think. The NFL measurements for Chris Johnson 5'11" 200lbs = 2.8lbs per inch of height. Percy Harvin 5'11" 192= 2.7 per inch. LL 5'9" 160 = 2.3 per. Remember the measurements for CJ and PH are NFL numbers, not Freshman numbers.
