I always figured that it was his call. I doubt that he is going to stay for 5 years, so he wasn't going to redshirt. The kid enrolled early at Alabama, so I would imagine that he will have graduated by the end of next year. If he's not going to take a 5th year, why redshirt him this year?

I don't know, maybe they forced him to play and he would have rather stayed another year, but he has a kid and responsibilities, so I don't think he can continue to stick around after he has his education.

In theory it's stupid to not have redshirted Taylor.

Yet, if he's going to leave regardless, and he specifically didn't want to be redshirted, there really was no other option. We cannot force a guy to stay here longer than he wants to be.

People need to quit complaining about it, or if they do, complain about Taylor not wanting to prolong his status as a college student.
