basically rehashing his story

Exactly.  Nothing really new that I heard - the trouble with him now is that he's the only one on his side right now - no one is backing him up, and that's a problem.

only new thing is that the coach is a deacon and isn't changing his story.

However, didn't I read that the coach said when the story broke that that was the first time he'd heard about it?

Generally a deacon is nothing special from a theological standpoint. Oftentimes, he's just the guy who does the books. Here is one definition.

In some denominations, deacons' duties are only financial management and practical aid and relief.

Try asking a deacon a biblical question.....typically he is going to forward you to the pastor or preist. Personally, the title "deacon" does not impress me, he might as well say he is a politician.  ;D

I listened to Greg on 1010's USF Magazine...  Couple interesting things:

1) HS Coach says he talks to Miller on at least a weekly level and talked to him after all the games including the Louisville game.  He only heard about the incident a week ago Thursday from a 3rd party.  He said he would not comment on incident because he does not know what happened.

2) Coach says quotes are completely out of context.  He answered the question what would you do if you heard of a coach hitting players.  Brett used his answer to mean USF.

3)  Dad says quotes are completely out of context.

So if you look at article, 2 quotes from dad and HS coach are the damning material.  Well if both say those quotes are taken out of context and you remove those from the article you really don't have much to stand on.

agreed...mcmurphy however has to try to validate his story somehow, even if he has to grasp for straws.

When McMurphy does one of these interviews on the radio....I wish someone would ask him "Why are you wrong all of the time"?

They ask him about the basketball story and he stands by his story....yet he said there was an NCAA investigation when there wasn't one.

Said J Famous was not sticking to his commitment yet he is playing here.

Said Huggy Bear was going to be our new basketball coach but it is Stan Heath.

McMurphy why are you wrong so much?
