There is no benefit to going to the Hockey Bowl...

If there was NO benefit, we wouldn't be going ....

Can you imagine if somehow UCiF pulls a win out of their a$$?

This place would have to go on lockdown to keep the UCiF trolls out.

I actually give the Kanigits more credit than that. They've stopped coming around because they know the difference in programs at this point in time. A win in a meaningless bowl over an uninspired fellow BE team won't change that .... It would, I believe, be their first win over a BCS team with a winning record so they'd have that going for them.

You should definitely read their message board if you think that.

That's the point, THEIR message board ... They've smartened up enough to know they look like **** fools on this board.... and I'm not saying that if they win, none will try to come over and show their ass *cough*chad*cough* but we wouldn't be inundated with them.

Trip, Rutgers not only beat us they shut us out and took us to the wood shed... if UCiF somehow wins then it will be as if they beat us and the pen will be crawling with trolls.

I just really don't believe that .... Hopefully, we won't find out who's right.  ;)

The St Pete Bowl's problem is hype.

Last year, if you traveled to downtown St Pete...hell, if you drove by the stadium parking lot...you would never know a football game was going on. There was nothing going on, no signage, no advertisements, nothing to tell you that there was a Bowl game about to happen in 2 hours.

Then, you walk in to the stadium and there is nothing different...until you get to your seats and see the football field. They couldn't throw up an orange MagikJack banner at the gate?

I don't think anybody means that there is no benefit in going to Toronto, and we should therefore turn it down.  The thread is talking about the benefits (or lack of) of going to Toronto as opposed to St. Pete.

Ah, by the 4th page sometimes the original point is lost ..... but, as the OP stated, there is at least one benefit going there over St Pete and that's the extra practice time.

For the next 3 weeks, we get to end sentences on here with the word "aye".

That's gotta mean something, aye.

I think that would be better suited for the Captain Morgan Rum bowl ....

I'm never sure if it's spelled out 'ay' or ...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
