did that blow his redshirt?

If so, what a complete waste.

He'll play in the majority of Big East games.  How is that blowing a redshirt?  We had 1 loss when he came back.  I don't see it as an issue.

i think it is more the fact that he got 6 carries than the fact that he returned.

I am hoping this is a warmup to a Taylor/Ford combo.  If so, it was not a waste.  What if Taylor was a primary back for the rest of the season?  I don't think that would be a waste.

I know J Taylor is USF's most complete back but I am not sure what difference he is going to make this season. He is just another RB to add to the rotation. I can understand if he was a pitcher in baseball but this is football. I would have loved to see USF use this year as a redshirt year.

Why waste him this year?  If he's just another cog in the running back wheel we have he'll see action every 4th or 5th series and have no impact.  Its not like he's gonna get the ball 20 times a game.  That is just not the m.o.

He could continue rehabbing and be completely healthy for next year.  Why risk any sort of reinjury this year if he's only going to carry the ball 5 or 6 times a game?

If you think about it... a medical RS would have been in HIS best interest. He would be a RS Senior and there will be no Ford, no Plancher.... He would be the clear cut number one... Lamar would be the #2 followed by possibly Murray and some recruits.
