Former Bulls Offensive Lineman Frank "Panama" Davis is playing right now in the United Football League (UFL) on the Versus channel.  He's playing for the Las Vegas Locomotives who also have former Bills starting quarterback JP Losman.  Las Vegas is playing the California Redwoods.  On the last touchdown drive for Las Vegas, the commentators talked about Frank being the first Panamanian player in NFL history and now UFL history.  They even mentioned that he played at the University of South Florida so a little pub for the Bulls.

There haven't been any shots of the crowd since I turned this on. Any gauge on the turnout? I'm sure it's not many - any people at all would seem to be good to me.

I hope the league is successful. I doubt it, and won't really care if and when it folds, but if I had to state a preference I'd say I hope it works.

And Kordell Stewart has an awful voice.

The crowd doesn't look that great.  A few packs throughout the stadium.  It's the first game so hopefully it will provide something to build on.  The uniforms are pretty bad.  The California Redwoods color scheme looks like the old Orlando Thunder of the World Football League.

I like the fact it is a spin off of the CFL and gives players a chance to make it to the NFL. If it folds, there is always the successful CFL for these guys.

the fact that they are even playing games is an accomplishment after the failure of the college based one recently

and in this economy-- with the somewhat successful Arena League gone too.

if this sucker flies, it will be nothing short of a miracle
