I'm out here for work and decided to check out the campus...One word, amazing....From the actual campus to the little town surrounding it.

Hopefully, USF will continue to focus on creating a better campus atmosphere.

its hard for USF to create that "campus" atmosphere when there is already a huge city built around it.

The new marshall center is a great start but Tampa isn't exactly a "college town" like Norman.

USF has made huge strides in the last decade.

I went with some buddies to the USF/Oklahoma game.  It was an amazing gameday environment.  Everybody was very friendly--but I don't think they saw us as much of a threat to win the game.  It was cool when they honored Lee Roy Selmon before the game.

You can build a campus environment in a large city, Ohio State has done it. If you ever go to CBus check it out

What?! The population is almost 2 million and they house more major corporate headquarters than Tampa.

How does Columbus not qualify as a "large city"

I dont consider colombus a large city.

But Oklahoma is incredibly nice because: They've been there for over 100 years AND Barry Switzer.

Tampa, specifically Temple Terrace, is not yet focused around USF. Give it 10-15 years of more grads and jobs staying local.

Tampa is also much more of a tourist stop and place for people to retire. Places like Norman and Colombus...definitely not.

Is Cincinnati a large city? Pittsburgh? Kansas City? Milwaukee?

All are comparable sizes

Columbus is like Tallahassee or Austin or Sacramento... it existed and grew because of for State Government and the university.  It is not a metropolitan area that grew as a city.

So yes, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh = Large Cities

Columbus & Austin = Small Cities

Population numbers and "corporate headquarters" don't really count.
