Matt,

You are really missin my point. It does not bother me if the Rays pull 15000 for a weeknight game against the A's or Royals or Orioles.

And to use a Toronto team that hasn't een the post season in 16 years as an example is pointless.

What bothers me is the fact that the Rays pulled 19000 for the frst night of a World Series rematch. That's bad, no matter how you slice it.

You think Toronto would draw only 15000 for that? To say it isn't is just an excuse.

good points by all....yeah if the Rays were 10 games under 500 by now they wouldn't draw no matter where the ballpark is located but if they have competitive product like they do right now on a Tuesday night against the As, a ballpark at Channelside has a much higher chance to hit a weeknight 20K attendance mark that south st. pete

I don't disagree that. My point was those three games were huge...and no one showed.

This is promising, but where to get the 500 million for a stadium? the Rays aren't footing the whole bill and we're in the worst economy in decades...
