The Oracle is the worst university newspaper I have ever read. It's embarassing that a university of 41,000 students has such a lousy newspaper. 3,000-student Rice has a better daily paper. 8,000-student Notre Dame has a better newspaper. Don't even get me started on places like Ohio State or Michigan.

The Bore-a-cle is an embarrasment and a terrible representation of the quality of our student body.

USF is not known for its "journalism" program -- which isn't a full-fledged program like those at Florida or Florida State.  I find it surprising that with a large metropolitan area, USF doesn't develop its journalism program.

Don't get me wrong, the Oracle was great years ago - "Best College Daily in the Nation" in 1990.  But they have gone down hill since then.

Have to agree with your assessment Bobcat99, I transferred to USF from another major university with a better student newspaper and I would like to see USF improve the journalism program .

They may get their information from SportsLine.com who have us as 1-5 overall and 0-4 in conference play before the UAB game.  This doesn't make their reporting acceptable just a possibility of their source.  Why they wouldn't look to their own college web site is beyond me.

The Oracle is pretty much a left-ist psuedo-commie rag (or was for the 6 years I read it most days).

They have never give ANY USF sports the importance other schools give their athletics.
