Could be a good way to utilize everyone.

Keep as many DL on the field possible. 4:3 is good, i think we could & should use a 5:2 D in certain cases.

Howver a 4-4 and a 5-2 to mix it up on short yardage downs would be great. Most importantly, I think we need to mix in more blitzes and zone coverage in the 4-3 scheme we already use. thatusfguy Posted February 22, 2009 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 88 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 02/09/2007 Share Posted February 22, 2009 you people know that A. to run the 3/4 that you have have monster nose tackle a ( which we do not have) B. Teaching the 3/4 or any other defense to this team would take more time then USF has to spare C. Over all this team is built on having 4/3 personnel and would have a lot gaps in coverage and match up when came to the big east when came to the run.THE GROUP OF USF BULLS AGAINST THE 3/4 DEFENSE

First, we don't have the personnel to run the 3-4. Second, the 3-4 is difficult to teach, especially to college kids. Third, more of our opponents are rushing-oriented and we're better suited to have more linemen on the field to combat that.
