It's BS.  He was obviously going for the ball and not the kicker.

My biggest beef is that they gave us a penalty on a review, a la 2007 Rutgers.

If anything it should have been just running into the kicker. He had no intention to rough him, he was standing under him, the kicker would always flop to the ground like that. Should have been a 5 yard penalty instead of 15. Total ********.

Not sure what game you guys are watching but its definitely Roughing the Kicker when a guy lunges into him and doesn't touch the ball.  Using Replay sucked, but it was the right call.  That didn't lose the game for us tonight.  Turnovers, however did.

More importantly, how the hell do our guys not block those kicks?  I thought you are coached to leap and aim for a spot just a little in front of where the ball is gonna be kicked.  instead, we made contact with the kicker's leg, and not the ball.

The right call was made, but the point is that is a play where it should not be up to the video replay official to overturn the call on the field.

They should have reviewed our 4th down incompletion at the end of the game then because that was pass interference.

A player making/not making contact with a ball in a roughing/running into situation is reviewable by rule, PI is not, END.

Not really the same issue.  The original review was if a USF player touched the ball on a kick that travelled roughly 60 yards.  If it was touched no roughing, but since it was not touched than its obvious thats a penalty.  I didn't think you could add that call, but it was certainly the right call.  Just like the Rutgers game from last year it went against us.  But how do you miss the ball?  On our non pass interference, it was a questionable call for sure, but not reviewable.  Its just plain and simple, pass interference or no pass interference.  TJ didn't help the offense on that play as he was barely moving when the guy touched him.  He needs to take some acting courses, because if he flogs around, he probably gets the call.

Lets not lose sight of the fact, that on 2nd down of that very drive, MG missed a wide open WR for the winning TD.   Refs will always miss calls, its part of the game, but it didn't cost us the game tonight.  Our lack of red zone efficiency cost us the game tonight.  And for those that actually watch the games each week, THIS IS NOTHING NEW.   We've been having these issues all year long.  If you don't believe me, go back and review some of these games.  We're a terrible football team once we hit the opponents 20 yard line.

That second roughing the kicker, McAfee threw himself on to Mitchell like he was being hit by a car. Then he jumped up and started clapping and high-fiving people.
