(Harris Points/Max Harris points) + (USA Today Points/Max USA Today points) + (Sum of 4 'Middle' Computer Rankings/100)  then all divided by three.

Rankings still matter.  Consider there are 4 BCS at large slots.  Only 2 teams per conference can go to a BCS Bowl.  If we can keep winning and our BCS ranking gets high enough we will have a shot at a BCS at large.  If we can finish 3 or 4 we will automatically get an invite.  Otherwise we have to be in the top 14 to be eligible.  Finish in the top 10, and Pitt still wins conference, we would have a good shot at a BCS bowl.  Big 12 has 5 teams and the SEC has 4 teams ahead of us in the BCS rankings.  That's 5 teams there that will not be eligible for a BCS slot. There are also 3 nonBCS teams ahead of us and only one can go, if they qualify of course (Top 12 finish).  So take away 2 more teams and that means there are 7 teams ahead of us in the rankings that can't go to a BCS game.  That puts us #9 in the order for 10 slots.  We have to keep winning of course for any of this to matter, but it does show that we are on the cusp of an at large right now, so rankings really are important right now.

Just saw this, but find it hard to believe
