Mismanagement of the clock AGAIN. These gaffes are getting old. I love Leavitt's intensity, but it just doesn't seem like this staff is ever organized. We got outcoached by the Pornstache. Come on! I wish I wasn't so pissed off right now.Don't forget the WR screen called on 3rd and 20 that gained a whopping 5 yards. Great play calling. I think the thinking on that was to change the field position problem and trap them deep, but then all they have to do is throw long against our corners. So, what I am saying, is if we gave up the attempt at a first down for field position strategy that was a bad move in my opinion.

YEt what do we do? Call a play that has ZERO chance of getting us a first down...
TB Bulls Posted October 3, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 883 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 01/17/2008 Share Posted October 3, 2008 We're horrible on 3rd and long. I knew losing Jenkins and Williams was gonna be rough on us but are these guys really this bad? The coaching/play calling is atrocious. There is no reason why Pitt should beat us. We have superior talent on both sides of the ball and just can't get it done. What a ****** game.

Our D just couldn't stop the run. Missed tackles on third down killed us.

The team played poorly, but mainly on the offensive side of the ball. Is the defense GREAT...no, but the fact we did nothing in the first half on offense was the main reason for it. Our offensive game plan is just sad. You can see the plays coming a mile away and any average defense will kill them more often then not. I want a new OC, but the Hc is fine. Pitt could have never been able to tire the D out the way they did if out O kept the ball and got a couple first downs. This multi back backfield is crap. Give me 2 of any of the backs we have and lets roll. Anytime one of them has a play for a yard or 2 negative or no gain they are yanked and someone else put it. I am sick of it and it is the same thing as last year in that sense. When we grab a back and sticl with them we score points and win games. It showed last year in our wins and loses in most games and showed itself in this game. If the OC can't get his head out of his rear it is time to get a new one.Defense is thin and overworked today and that showed. They held the game in as long as they could and the O spent 3/4 of the game doing nothing. We can't expect 3 and outs or small plays every time the opponent gets the ball. They are trying as well and when you spend 3x the amount of time on the field you will wear down.

According to the 970 announcers, USF wanted to snap the ball at the start of the second drive in the 2nd Qtr. The three and out drive that started at the USF 17 with 4:59 to go in the half. The radio said that the clock was running and that Grothe wanted to snap the ball, but the refs would not let USF start. So USF called a timeout. Was this visible on TV? Anyone at the game see this?Kizarvexis

Referring was very suspect in my opinion but it should not have caused us the game.To say we have more talent than Pitt is not an accurate statement, Dave W. has had stellar recruiting classes the past three years, not to say that we are not as talented but again, not a reason we should have lost the game!To call for Jim's head, that is plain ridiculous, the inconsistency of the offense is on the OC and the players. The OC for calling wide receiver screens when they have not been working, the players for not catching balls, running routs, and taking sacks!MikeG, it's good to see all the whining and ******** because it shows we have fans that care and more importantly that we are passionate about our teamGO BULLS!! We are 5 - 1!!
