no conflicting Lightning games this year should help overall attendance

FYI, many of the Army folks I work with here in Orlando are talking about coming to the game.  You guys should have a good turnout!

Wooly, its not about the enlisted Army for this game.  It's all the retirees in the area.  It's been estimated that the Tampa Bay Area has over 100k retired military in this area, partly because MacDill has one of the largest PX's in the Southeast.

I can think of quite a few generals that are retired and living in the area like Franks, and Schwarzkopf.

We've never had a homecoming under 30k in attendance, and with Army, good publicity, and a decent team I expect we'll easily surpass 35k, after that it's anybodies guess, but it wouldn't surprise me if we approached 40k.

I'll be there.  The plane ticket is killing me because we had to wait to see my wife's schedule, but it's still worth it...

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there is a disconnect between your military relationship and demand to actually come to a game to see Army.  I'd say demand to see Army is about what it would be to see Pitt.  Probably the best turnout this year, but not 40K.

My dad served in the Army for 24 yrs and this game was the one that he was looking forward to the most and I believe that goes as well to the other retirees and active military personnel.  I'm hoping to see at least 36K.   :D

35,000 at the most, I still can't believe the poor turnout last week... There was no where near the 30,000 that the paper counted...

I say $33K.....it is afterall, still just Army. I will be bringing a large crowd, trying to get 15-20 friends/family together for the game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
