The problem is that bad.

The problem cannot be that bad when almost no one on this board saw any of the behavior you speak of.

If you want to enforce rules, monitor fans and kick out those who are unruly, strip them of their season tickets, punish them as students.  Some blanket program that restricts everyone's game day experience will be ridiculous.

You are wrong...

It can be that bad...  as people much more important than any on this board DID see this behavior (some of which is actually caught on video).  Just because we didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen.  I 100% guarantee it happened and is as bad or worse than anyone described here.

The "We didn't see anything, so it must not be that bad" concept is a dangerous stance to take.

And you are also right... about the consequences... those should all happen.  They should lose tickets, parking, etc.

Hopefully these "important people"  did more than observe acts.  Action should be taken immediately, on site, instead of creating some ******** plan that punishes 60,000 patrons instead of the few who are the problem.

There is no plan that would punish 60,000 patrons..... but you are absolutely correct that action should be taken immediately on site.

and that is the key point that we are all trying to make... immediate action... don't just ignore it.  Action can be a simple comment... "hey now, please be respectful" or finding authories to handle it.

I think my "mystery enforcers armed with tasers" suggestion was a Cracker Jack idea ....

The problem is that we've allowed/ignored this for 12 yrs. Some, even on this board, have incouraged it because that's all part of the "college game day experience."

NOW it has happened to someone of importance, so NOW it's a problem.

This crap should've been stopped years ago.

True... but regardless, we need to worry about it going forward and can't worry about 12 years of ignoring it.

Oh, I agree 110% !

I just wish I had an answer. Other than punishing the masses for the stupidity of the few.

You would like to think a few more ID checks in the parking lot would help, but the paper said this one was 30 something yrs. old.

If it's on video, just like the guy at UCF last week, prosecute!  If a few more good fans would help, I think we could solve this problem.

I'm not saying do anything physical, but pictures remove a lot of doubt.

Exactly...  never underestimate the power of self policing.  The more the good fans step up, the less likely the bad ones will act out.  Its gonna be tougher in the earlier stages, but us good fans can make a positive impact.

Athletics will be doing what they need to do and we should do everything we can to help.  This is our football team and our univesity.  We need to take ownership of our reputation.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
