We might be losing a lot after this season, but we have very talented players coming in. We are just gonna reload. I see possibly a 9-3 season or 8-4 next year. Still good enough for a bowl.

Yea 2007 and 2008 season were supposed to be "PEAK" times, 09+ were expected to have to reload. But atleast we will have some solid talent on both sides of the ball to build around again.

O line is the one position that concerns me but we will still have a 4 year starter at QB, tons of WR depth, great RB duo.

defense im not even worried about.  i know we will reload there.  we do every year.

Don't forget that the term "returning starter" is real fuzzy. For instance..Jerome Murphy is a "new starter"...but got plenty of key gametime experience in our base defense and was the nickel back. A WR like Bogan or love would have seen lots of playing time in multiple receiver sets and otherwise...but still be labeled a "new starter". Almost as a necessity given our talent level and weather situation...our coaching staff has done a good job of always developing a rotation approach at every position except QB. Not to mention they recruit and groom new comers with an eye to next year. The lines are where I'd be most concerned...since "gelling together" is so important.

Projected 2009 Starting Lineup -- Based on the Tennessee-Martin lineup and the 3rd stringers from Greg's Blog... lots of young players... and I'm sure there are some true freshmen already at USF or one or two incoming 2009 class that could crack this lineup...

SRQ is right.  This is a positive thing.  I can't remember any USF team starting as many Srs as this team.  This is a very encouraging sign for this coming season.

Of course OL is going to be hard to "reload" but the rest of the positions have great depth coming into this season.  But I won't bother worrying about that until after our bowl game.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
