Now this is he heaviest SR class in a long time.

Positions we'll be heavily looking for immediate help are:

- O-Line, all positions.

- Safety, especially IF Allen leaves early.

- Losing 2 sarters a LB is tough.

I count 15 major losses of he 22 departing Seniors. I do feel good about all 3 positions being filled for 2009.

i dont think it will be rebuilding next year.  guys will just step up.  people thought our LBs were gonna be hurting when we lost St Louis and Nicholos.  but we had Mompremiere and T-Mac.

i am most worried about O-line.  all the others i am confident in our depth and our coaching staff.

You didn't mention Selvie.  No way he's here after this season...might as well be a senior too.

I agree with Matt here to an extent.  I mean technically it is a rebuilding mode somewhat, but the staff is going after some JC players now, and they grabbed a few last year.  Guys like Marshall, Bedford, Kion Wilson, Theo Wilson and the others coming soon should help the rebuild go smoother and quicker.  Also we'll be inserting guys with lots of experience mompremier is gone but in steps Sabbath Joseph who's been with the program for 4 years by next season, ditto for McQueen, or Robinson.

The OL is going to be the toughest to fill, but again we will have some guys with experience by then, Hermann, Sims, and Warren are all expected to play this year.

I don't think we lose all of those guys.  We should have 5th years available for some of them.  I know we lose Buie.  But don't we get a 5th from Jake Griffin, Brouce Mompremier, Tyler Roberts, and some of the other starters if they want it?

From the looks of it we do lose all of those guys, with the exception of Schmidt possibly.  He has a case for 6th year due to injury.  Mompremier made 5 tackles his Freshman season.  What a waste of a year.  I guess I was thinking Spires.

I was just looking at this article:

http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/aug/25/sp-bulls-eye/

If you scroll down... you will see our starting roster...

We will be losing 8 of 11 projected starters (4 of which are on the o-line)

and 5 on defense including 2 starting linebackers.

I don't mean to look ahead with the season starting days away but I was surprised to see we have so many starting seniors this year.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
