Speculation on the UM scout board.

What's funnier to read is that McCoy used Miami, and never was really offered or something.  That he went away once Miami got Cooper.  To bad for Miami because seeing both of them play Cooper couldn't carry McCoy's jock strap.

As many as seven freshmen from UM’s 33-man recruiting class may not be on hand when the Hurricanes report to school on Thursday.

According to UM coach Randy Shannon, four incoming freshmen still have issues to resolve with the NCAA Clearinghouse and two other recruits have already enrolled in prep school after they were unable to qualify academically.

A seventh player, New Jersey linebacker Zach Kane, is facing criminal charges back home and will not be allowed to report until that situation reaches a conclusion. Kane was charged with aggravated assault in June after allegedly breaking a bottle over a 21-year-old man’s head during a party.

Shannon, who met with reporters on Tuesday afternoon, did not mention any specific names but it is known that C.J. Odom, a safety from Fort Myers, and Brandon Washington, an offensive lineman from Miami Northwestern, have already enrolled at Milford Academy, a prep school in New Berlin, N.Y. that produced UM running back Graig Cooper.

Among the four other players with clearinghouse concerns are Antonio Harper, a linebacker from Memphis, who is soon expected to join Odom and Washington at Milford. Brandon Marti, a linebacker from Miami Gulliver Prep, is also among the four but has reportedly resolved his problem with the NCAA and may be at UM for the start of fall practice on Saturday morning.

Sort of a non-story.  They had 33 recruits so I am sure they knew some were not going to make it.

Yeah, but that's more than 20% of their class who didn't show up.

Brandon Washington was the biggest loss I'm sure. They pushed hard for him all for that. They desperately need an offensive line.

I read a post on one of the Miami boards that his ACT score got flagged by the NCAA. If that's true, he probably will wind up, as expected, at a prep school.

He went from a 15 to a 21 on his ACT.  That'll get you flagged everytime!
