He'll have every opportunity to make an impact with USF.

SANJAY Posted July 25, 2008 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 7,993 Reputation: 968 Days Won: 21 Joined: 10/31/2005 Author Share Posted July 25, 2008 Geno's 17 points was tied for 5th best of the 11 QBs at the camp. Eugene Smith, 6-3, 182, DQB, Miramar (FL) Miramar Arm Strength: 3 Footwork: 4 Athleticism: 4 Accuracy: 3 Release: 3 Total: 17 Conclusion: He should be one of the most heavily recruited quarterbacks in the country from here on out. Smith has come a long way since the Miami Nike camp. He is another quarterback actually be a pro-style quarterback in a dual-threat quarterback body. Based on his body structure, I would say he is almost definitely a redshirt candidate, but after that he will be pressing for playing time. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=830402

"South Florida is really intriguing to me and they're going to be one of the schools that I'm going to be looking at very hard, right down to the wire. I'll probably make a couple of visits there.Rivals PC so I don't want to post too much but this is great news for USF!It also mentioned Boston college, FSU, Clemson, Louisville and Michigan in the article. Smith has a group of about 10 schools he is looking at that he chooses not to name (he does mention USF, Boston College, FSU and Florida). He will take all of his visits and announce on signing day, and adds that distance may be a factor.http://www.recruitingplanet.com/forum/south-florida-bulls/5366-09-fl-qb-eugene-smith-official-offer.html

If he's a Bull on signing day then my enthusiasm, which will be very high, will be tempered by the fact that he could've helped us snag a better recruiting class if he'd committed earlier.
