Dennis Dodd pointed me toward the USA Football NCAA Football Test.  It's a 100 question test involving various scenarios -- and they aren't easy...

Dodd was able to get 46 out of 100 correct.

I beat him -- getting 49 correct.

Do you think you could do better?

The test will take you about 30 to 45 minutes...

Here is a sample question:

81. 2nd and 14 @ A's 28. Team A right guard commits a false start. Team B nose guard reacts and commits a personal foul when he slams the right guard to the ground. Team A is lined up in an illegal formation.

A. Offsetting dead ball fouls; 2nd & 14 @ A's 28.

B. A 1st & 10 @ A38.

just finished the first 50 questions, but have to meet some peeps for breakfast. The test is giving me a headache.

rules? not very well because you  cant keep up with minor year to year changes

but i know  the game as well as anyone

Yeah, the test questions are quite complicated... but these are things the officials need to be able to do without having to look at the rule book.

These scenarios are often the types that result in on-field conferences or replay reviews.

I only got 46 right.  Too much reading and thinking involved in that test.
