Anyone else noticed things really went down hill (even more) for UCF

Also, as I defended O'Leary from what the Sentinel was doing, do any of you guys want to touch on it now.  Gee, what happened to the Sentinel's reporting of the "cover up?"

Have we missed something?

So a UCF baseball coach gets fired, if any of you guys truely think it had anything to do with what is being reported, you need help.  Could it have been that UCF baseball has been stuck in mediocracy for close to a decade now?

If that was the case why not wait until the season's over. Like you said, it's been almost a decade of mediocracy, why do it NOW?

Now USF reports actual NCAA violations, hate to tell you guys, that is worse than anything that you are bashing UCF for.

Mistakenly recruiting 9 extra days is worse than the simulated anal **** of a team manager .... wow ..... just wow.

Good point.  I wonder if occurrences of bat-**** went up at UCiF with the introduction of aluminum bats.  No splinters.

So, the relevance is what?  Did UCF self-report the bat-****?  :)

Not sure EI, bringing back bad memories for you?

I find it humorous when I read about one of the UCF/USF fans bashing each other for this crap.  It happens every where.  How long has it been since USF's womens basketball coach was accused of racial insensativity?  Now USF reports actual NCAA violations, hate to tell you guys, that is worse than anything that you are bashing UCF for.  Last I have seen, no violations from their football, basketball or baseball programs.

So, an accusation so serious that it warrants a coach of 26 years to be fired isn't as bad as a coach spending an extra 9 days recruiting?  Let's break it down further:

A UCF staff manager held another manager down and the vertern coach of 26 years ACTED LIKE HE WAS SHOVING A BASEBALL BAT UP HIS ASS.

I don't think I've seen that "happen every where" as you put it.

But then again, you do have "coaching experience" and like to comment on it.  Tell me, if this stuff happens every where, which end of the bat did your players prefer?  I bet you were partial to the "big end" when you were doing your giving.

100 bucks says that UCF cleans out most of the other baseball staff before next season.

In the eyes of the NCAA, what USF did was worse.  One was an accusation, one was an admission of guilt, you figure out what was worse.

Yes I have close to 20 years of experiance coaching and yes we joked with the staff all the time.  We taped equipment managers to the goal posts, we replaced their equipmentment with other things.  Did we shove things up their ass, nope, but why not grow a pair as EI says.  It was most likely a joke that the person did not like being played upon.  Was it right, nope, would I have done it, nope, has it happened in many other places, you bet your ass it has.

As I have said before, I would defend any and all coaches from this type of baseless crap.  They fired Bergman because they were most likely tired of him for whatever reason.  This was an excuse most likely.  UCF's AD has yet to make a real hire and maybe he wants to place his stamp on the program, who knows but enough of the high and mighty crap.

In the eyes of every civilized human on the planet, what your ****** coach did was 1000X worse than staying on the road a few extra days.

Baseless?  The whole incident happened in front of the entire team and staffers.  Nobody's stepped up to say Bergie got a bum rap.  Funny how things like this are always baseless when they're about UCF.

You don't fire a coach who has had "a decade of mediocrity" but you named the freaking FIELD after with 10 games left in the season because "they were tired of him."  Dude is a pervert and a homophobe.

Hey, Moses... guess what.  It's the 21st century.  Anal **** is not ok... you and your boys will have to find a new pasttime.  Unless you dig that sort of thing.

I don't think anal **** was ok when Moses was around either.  He had a lot of rules.

Is there an "Bachelor of Excuses" degree offered at UCiF?

Funny how when the Moffet stuff came out, all the UCF people could say was "look how your program cheats", but now something about one of their own is being reported and it is all "baseless crap".  ::)

Other than Bulldad's text based diarrhea(1), I have to agree with the Bull fans.  A minor infraction may be worse to the NCAA, but to society, what Bergman did, if indeed true, is far worse.

And Sanjay, the Romans were into that stuff.  That's post Moses. ;)

1.  I call it diarrhea because of how each school handled it.  UCF dropped the axe on Bergman, which means they had to have investigated and found it to be grounds for termination or risk a legit wrongful termination suit.  USF openly said they would not investigate Moffett's situation, which involved an act that did not potentially injure someone directly(I do not call academic integrity injuring someone).  We don't want to think the USF brass as liars, so it should be safe to say that they did not choose to investigate, despite me thinking they should have.  This is an apple to orange comparison.

Ya just gotta laugh when a ucIFer tries telling you that a coach staying out on the road for 9 extra days is worse than a coach sexually harassing someone on the athletics staff...

I hate to see USF make such an error, but as soon as it was realized, it was taken care of.  The NCAA will accept USF's recommendation to reduce the number of days on the road next year, whereas ucIF is going to be paying a lot of legal fees and likely an out of court settlement for at least one of the affected parties, not to mention the damage to the school's reputation.

I don't think it's going to be that damaging.  With Bergman being an old guy, it will be much easier to brush it off as an old coot starting to lose it.

I expect baseball to fall sub .500 for a year or two while a new coach get his type of players in.
