Though he committed early, Dixon still planned on taking all of his official visits. He says that USC backed off of him after his commitment to USF and so he will not take a visit to Columbia. Dixon has already taken an official to Ole Miss on December 4th and loved his visit. "The coaching staff and players are one big family," he said. "The area is pretty nice and not too big so you really can't get into too much trouble up there. I could deal with that." Dixon says that Ole Miss, Rutgers, and West Virginia never stopped recruiting him and that is why he will visit each school. He goes to USF on January 10th, West Virginia the following week and Rutgers the week after that. Dixon confirmed his commitment but says he wants to make sure of his decision by seeing what else is out there. All four schools have visited him in Hollywood this month.http://www.goupstate.com/article/20081221/PSPORTS02/812210294/1018/SPORTS?Title=Dixon_Firm_With_Commitment-Tyrone Williamshttp://www.timesenterprise.com/sports/local_story_359141049.htmlThe Thomasville senior, who has committed to the University of South Florida, was named by the region coaches as the region defensive player of the year.-Just saw this Dec. 12th article by Tom Luginbill espn.com - Nothing groundbreaking...South Florida (17 verbal commitments/one ESPNU 150 prospect)Obviously, South Florida's success on the field has provided significant exposure and an upgraded perception of the program in prospects' eyes. As a result, USF continues to add speed and athleticism -- although many of the players they've brought in have been a bit undersized. Athlete Victor Marc (Hallandale, Fla.) and CB Ricardo Dixon (Hallandale, Fla.) are big pickups. Although RB Bradley Battles (Marianna, Fla.) doesn't have ideal measurements, he can really scoot and is a great athlete with corner-type change-of-direction skills. DE/OLB Demi Thompson (Lake Mary, Fla.) is on the shorter side, but he is a football player. In order for the Bulls to truly turn the corner in recruiting, however, they need to finish on the field and win the Big East outright. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/columns/story?columnist=luginbill_tom&id=3764748 Our committment from Edgard Theliar (Butler CC) may help pull in his teammates Rudell Crim and Carlos Savala. And if you did not see it, the 2008 All Suncoast Team. (Hillsborough,Pinellas,Pasco,Hernando)Plenty of our recruits can be found scattered throughout the list. And some for next year also.Check it out..http://www.tampabay.com/specials/2008/PDFs/allsunfoot.pdfFirst team selections such as recruits: Ryne Giddins, Jaquez Jenkins.. and a lot of players we should be pulling in.Plenty of Juniors we need to keep our eyes on too.. Plant LB Mike Mirabella and WR Allen Sampson and Armwood DL Alton Bailey and Theodore "Man-Man" Jackson. And Nature Coast RB Tevin Drake.

If they can coach these guys up, we should be looking at a pretty bright future for a long time at USF as we build that recruiting base which is where it all starts.
