Hey Donno, what in the hell was wrong with my thread (We need to demand to know why...)?? You don't think that as a contributor to this program that you should be kept in the loop as to why STARS aren't playing in games? Seems like the 3 games they let Ford play we looked pretty dame good! I didn't bash any of our players or state that I was embarassed of our program. I feel that we had a great year, but this wasn't a game that we should have lost. As I said in my post, I put the blame on Gregory for never even attempting to start a running game.

STFU Donno!

Was sitting near a guy at the game who had spoken with coach Gregory about the RB situation.

Don't jump ugly with me, but what this guy told me is that coach thinks that Ben Williams is a better overall back and would have played more at the end of the year had he been healthy.  I am not a coach (but I did spend a night at a Holiday Inn Express) but from what I see, 1st and ten hand the ball to Ford and you are at 2nd and 7 or 8 at a minimum.  Hand the ball to Williams and you are 2nd and 10.  Ben saved our butts at FAU but otherwise did not dominate.  Maybe Gregory is seeing something we don't see as fans.  Or maybe his brownies in his lunchbox were leftovers from his college days.

There was a good article on Ford out here in El Paso.  Don't know if it showed up in the Tampa papers.  Pointed out that we was 20 pounds over his playing weight when he finally showed up here after 2 years of not playing.  Also noted that he has just recently gotten into playing shape.  I believe it also mentioned about taking time to learn the playbook.

we are on the brink of being big time and we play like that?

exactly.

THIS was the moment to show a national audience the Bulls could play.

win or lose, this team could have shown what the Bulls are about and put up a tough game.

instead we got completely embarassed.

does anyone think there will be preseason hype about USF next year?

we're back to "unknown former midmajor directional school in the Big Least" status.

It is a bowl game and it doesn't matter.

:ROFLMAO

That statement shot your credibility right out of the gate.

And speaking of assinine thread titles....yours takes the cake, my friend.

as does all of his whopping 34 posts

A person's number of posts mean very little.

But a person's moronic words mean a whole lot.

Hahahaha!  I knew a thread like this would pop up.  How funny!  People express their opinions after watching their team/conference get totally embarrassed on national TV and you criticize them for telling the truth.

Yes some of the threads go a little far but allow people to vent after that miserable performance.

BB there is truth in what you say.  But I would offer that we have another opportunity to prove them wrong on the field every year.

I drive a pickup although I could afford something which would make a better impression on people.  It has a lot of power, is very comfortable, and gets pretty good gas mileage (for a 5.3 L engine).  Would people be more impressed if I drove a status symbol?  Probably.  Do some people consider truck people to be "farmers" (as if that were a bad thing)?  Probably.  But really, I don't care what they think.  It performs on the road better than most vehicles.  Sure, it affects recruiting (back to football), but I believe recruits look at the whole season also.

I'm just not that hung up on what others think.  We had a 9-3 regular season beating Auburn and WV.  We were ranked number 2 for a week and ranked in the top 25 for most of the season.  Play in an NFL stadium.  First sell out.  Average over 53,000 per game.  We have stability in the HC slot.  I think we can take this hit even though others may not see us as the next Patriots.  Just yet.

I just spent the last 20 minutes reading threads saying:

Embarrassed, won't wear my USF shirt, out-coached, under-talented, under-sized, exposed

Go away who needs you.

It is a freakin' bowl game, yes you would have thought the seniors would have wanted to come out and play and finish such a great tenure but they didn't.

It is a bowl game and it doesn't matter.  Why do you think professional gamblers won't bet on any bowl game except the national championship, because you don't know what team is going to show up, it could be a vacation for the team.

You saw a team that had a really great vacation in El Paso, TX...

Roper > Grothe

We need to demand to know why....  (yeah go ask the coach)

What type of coach would you want next at USF?

the sun bowl result will not go away and will be referred to all next year

Donno - were you in El Paso for the game? I am still stuck in El Paso, having breakfast with Oregon fans who are kind of enough to tell us that their 3rd and 4th strings ( didn't know teams had 4th strings ) were playing much of the second half.

And yes, a bowl game does matter.

when you lose 56-21  as bad as usf did

IT MATTERS

F YOU...

Get you head out of your A**

This game was an embarrassment for the program.   I am pissed I wasted my time watching any of this game.   Hope you enjoyed your trip.  I am assuming if you have a 5 hour flight delay you won't be all that bothered.  You seem to have no problem setting the bar very low.

Pops, next time buy a TV with more than one channel.  You did not have to "Waste" your time, you could have turned it off.  I hated it too,  but come on.

You are right on this one, we will have to hear about this lost for an entire year, painful.
