My group was looking to stay at a hotel near the airport ... any idea about "safe" areas in El Paso vs. not so "safe" areas?

The two hotels we were looking at are

Howard Johnson Express Inn El Paso, TX

500 Executive

Center Boulevard

I-10 Exit 16

and

La Quinta Inn El Paso - Airport West

6140 Gateway East

Thanks

I'm at the HoJo... it's not really near the airport.  Doesn't seem like a bad part of town, either.

We are booked at the Marriott on Airport Way so assume that is near the airport.

Thank God for our Marriott points.

Well good. Glad to see we won't be alone at the HoJo's. Looking forward to seeing all of you in El Paso.  :D

All my points are on Hilton Honors, from Hampton Inn stays.  Lucky for me there's a Hilton Garden Inn at the edge of UTEP's campus.  Just a 1/4 mile walk across campus to the stadium.  Almost makes the 100 nights out worth it.
