alright we BEAT auburn AND they have one more loss than us

and we would manhandle BYU, Boise, Boston College, and Air Force

and im pretty sure we could beat Texas Tech, Michigan, and Kentucky who also have one more loss than us

^^ what he said.

was gonna type out a response to the idiots thinking our ridiculous 30th place showing in the Coaches' isnt ********, but Killah beat me to it.

8-4 TxTech?  8-2 BYU?  7-4 Auburn, a team we beat?

f**king Air Force, Michigan and Kensucky all getting more votes?

how is that NOT ********?

i understand losing 3 in a row really hurt us, but 2 of them were on the road to good teams that have both been ranked, and the other was at home to a good team that was ranked... we lost by a total of 15 points, all games we had a chance to win on the last posession.

we dropped out of the ranking and deservedly so... but we've won 2 in a row now, and the totality of our record-- 8-3 with wins over Auburn, WVU, UNC, a C-USA-leading UCF and Louisville is more than enough to get us into the Top 25.

so again i say, ********.

coaches polls are stupid and shouldn't even be considered in rankings.  coaches are busy preparing for THEIR game, they don't have time to researcn other teams.

********.

why?

usf lost 3 straight to teams usf was favorite to beat

those new to college football need to know finishing strong is important

losing 3 straight isnt finishing strong

Yeah like Kentucky, Texas Tech, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin are finishing strong.

Stop being such a friggin pessimist and come to the realization that we are getting screwed because of our lack of "tradition." The coaches poll is a joke.

I was just amazed as you all were at Auburn's ranking, i think we should be like 42 or something to be honest.

I don't know why the coaches hate USF so much, but hey more power to them because we are fine in the BCS poll.

Agreed. They probably have some freshman that cleans the team's jocks making the picks.  ;)

Not sure why people are surprised.  The BE does not get the respect of the Coaches, the Media, nor the BCS as a whole.  We only get one conference tie in to a BCS game, but have had multiple teams in or near the top 25.  Look at the Sagarin ratings of our conference, we are number two behind teh SEC.

But the traditional teams will always get the votes.  Look at FSU in teh coaches poll who are just behind us with 4 losses.  Yes, BC was a decent win but BC lost again and proved they did not deserve the high ranking.

Bottom line, a 3 loss BE team may or may not make it in the top 25.  A 3 loss team from the ACC, Big 12, Big 10 or SEC will be ahead of us in all cases even if their conference is having a bad year.

The system allows for huge amounts of bias, and will continue to unless it gets fixed, which it wont since there is so much influence at the top by the traditional schools/conferences adn there is so much money riding on it.....

For now, I'll take our top 23 BCS ranking and hope we win this week and continue to move up....
