Anyone who thinks CJL doesn't at least listen when other schools call is delusional.  Whether it is A&M or another school, USF better show the green (even if CJL allows for a hometown discount).

Of course Leavitt is at the top of someone's list.  Let me give you my list to replace CJL:

1.  Bob Stoops

2.  Pete Carroll

3.  Urban Meyer

4.  Bill Parcells

5. The Pope (I would have him higher, but he runs Meyer's wing-T offense but not as effectively)

I spoke with Jim Tressel who took his name out of consideration because he is worried that he will melt uinder his sweater-vest in the Florida humidity.

This scanario was brought up on Tailgate Overtime yesterday (or it may have been College Kickoff on friday...cant remember).....but they said they had an inside source who said Leavitt was at the top of the list for Texas Tech.

Hey Greg,

You sometimes write that CJL is, so as not to use a dirty word, a bit curt when answering questions at local media press conferences.

Imagine what it would be like if you were the Texas Tech beat writer and CJL was the football coach and Bobby Knight coached mens BB?

Welll...although CJL may be at the top of A&M's list,

is A&M at the top of CJL's list? You do know this cuts both ways.

I recall him saying something to the effect that, if he did go

to 'Bama, he'd be just another coach who won a Nat'l Championship at 'Bama.

but here - he would be THE COACH that took USF to it's Nat'l championship.

Gotta remember...sometimes ego is as much of a motivator as money.

He buit it from the ground up.  8)

Anyone who knows CJL knows he isn't going anywhere, this is his baby and he isn't going to abandone it at this point.  Most newbies to the program and this board or those that don't know cjl think he is like every other coach and that they will career jump to a bigger program just for the money.  Say what you want about money talks, but in this case, its more then that.  Sure if cjl was making what he was making 10 years ago, or even 3-5 years ago, he might be more tempted, but he is getting pretty decent money and has his so called "Dream Job".  He isnt done building yet, and he won't leave until he is.  The guy created this program, it means more to him then anyone else associated with USF.  Other coaches come and go because they don't have the personal attachment that he has.

But everytime there is talk, people come on here that don't know him and start this kind of talk.

They have lots of money over there and it is an attractive program.  I know Leavitt loves USF, but how much money can USF continue to come up with year after year?

I'm told by those connected to the Texas A&M situation that a big push could be made for South Florida's Jim Leavitt. His track record for success is well documented, and everyone knows he's underpaid.

Leavitt also is attractive because he was born in Texas and recruited the state diligently when he was an assistant at Kansas State.

a and m is a terrible program

no chance for a bcs game ever

usf is a better program with more potential

now- if leavitt wants$$$$$$$$$$$$$ than he goes to a and m
