Whoever is calling for Gregory's head, you're just wasting your time. Find something else to *****/complain/vent about. Leavitt has never fired a coach and won't fire Gregory. He and Renato Diaz didn't get along...AT ALL. But even so, CJL never fired him. Did he fire Rod Smith after almost every fan was calling for him to be fired? No. It's just not going to happen.

change isn't necessarily a bad thing, ya know.

Gee and maybe we could also play their schedules and roll up big yards and points against CDOA teams every week or play the 1AA teams and really roll up yards. wow cool.

But Tulsa only scored 23 in a losing effort against UCif how many did we get?

do you even watch college football?  still pretty impressive-- sure, they rolled up yard against CUSA opponents with CUSA talent, but when they, themselves, are a CUSA team with CUSA players, the talent evens out and it's a good indicator of good playcalling.  urban meyer coached in the mountain west before he coached in the SEC, that seemed to have panned out pretty well.

oregon got Chip Kelly from New Hampshire, and their offense is one of the nastiest, if not THE nastiest, offenses in all of the land.

LoL...I'm just telling you how Leavitt is. He's NOT going to fire Gregory.

Well now that you mention it they did roll up 28 first downs and have 438 yards against the equal competition of SMU but they only scored 29 points. They also had 5 turnovers. I wonder what the score would  have been with 8 turnovers? Surely no team could score 33 points with 8 turnovers against equal competition. They won that game BTW because SMU only scored 23 points.

They rolled up 379 yards against UCif but lost because they only scored 23 points because they had 4 turnovers. According to many on this board they must have bad coaches to have that many turnovers.

Nukebull is right, everyone.

Greg Gregory's nine plays are outstanding.

MAB please tell what drive you think the OC could have changed? and what difference that would have made.

You are right. Gregory isn't fumbling the ball or dropping the passes, perhaps that IS an area where the ball carriers need more work/

Oh and by the way when you are looking at those 10 drives, the coaches did not have the punt blocked either, seven easy points for Cincy

As pointed out CJL does not fire coaches.  Maybe his style is to make the guy's life so difficult he leaves on his own?

More fundamentally, we have typically not had the money to go out and hire experienced big name coaches.  CJL has gotten guys with as much experience and ability as our limited funds could get.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
