Early Doucet is set to make his return to the lineup for LSU in tonight’s huge SEC West showdown with Auburn in Tiger Stadium.A preseason all-conference selection, the St. Martinville native has not started a game since the Tigers’ 48-7 win in Week 2 over Virginia Tech.ADVERTISEMENT A projected first-round pick in the next NFL draft, Doucet has been out of the lineup since suffering a serious groin injury during a non-contact drill the Friday prior to the Middle Tennessee State game on Sept. 15.While the announcement of starting lineups is still about one-half hour away, Doucet went through all pre-game drills, including fielding punts. The 6-foot, 206-pounder showed explosion and took several punts on 30-yard sprints.During passing drills, Doucet ran with the first team opposite Brandon LaFell.Despite playing in only two games (minus one play as a decoy in last week’s loss at Kentucky), Doucet is second for LSU in receiving. He enters the Auburn game with 15 catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns.Best pre-game momentThe atmosphere for tonight’s game is electric, but there was an early moment that stood out.At about 6 p.m., the Auburn team arrived at the stadium and a number of players took a walk around Tiger Stadium. The LSU student section was ready. For nearly 15 minutes, chants of “Mississippi State, Mississippi State,†and “USF, USF†echoed throughout the facility. Of course, that referred to Auburn’s 26-23 loss to South Florida in overtime and a 19-14 loss to Mississippi State on consecutive weeks in early September. It ended with the several thousand students chanting “Bama rejects, Bama rejects.â€ÂYes, it must be a Saturday night in Baton Rouge.

I am just happy that we were ranked when the official standings came out on the 14th. At the end of 2006 I believe we weren't ranked close to top 25. I don't remember if we were 34th or 43rd, something like that. So, if we finish in the top 15 at the end of the season I will be reasonably satisfied. Let's win the BE. That is what CJL wants and so should we.GO BULLS!!
