He will get better.

He was very nervous today. Those legs become jello when everyone is watching you after missing 2 straight kicks. You would know this if you were ever a kicker.

Bottom line... he tied the game and sent us to OT.

At this point, how can you say he will get better?

And what is "better" at this point?

2 out of 5??

Just won't cut it.

I'd like to think he's got his next 4 or 5 attempts to show if he can ever be our kicker.

If not, then hold an open try-out.

WE NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE WHO CAN KICK THE BALL IN-BETWEEN THE BRIGHT YELLOW POLES!!

Many fail to remember that Benzer was considered a recruiting coup, as was Alvarado....some were surprised Alvarado would come here with Benzer already here.  Settle that in.

being the result oriented guy i am

we beat auburn and leavitt and guys deserve a world of credit-tremendous effort and result

but alvarado shouldnt be usf's kicker

this has been a 2 year problem

you are right but it didnt have to come down to that.  the one that sent us to ot was a chip shot.

we took an interception to what looked like a td.  but at the very least you think an easy fg, and he missed it.  very poor.

we looked like a SOLID college football program with a below average high school kicking team.  we will not get away with that again....im just saying.

it is tough to win without a kicking game

but usf did it last night

if i was auburn i would be concerned.their q b sucks

Actually I have been happy with Alvarado since last year.  He has a strong leg, is usually pretty accurate, and hopefully after this game will be even better.  Coach trusted him to tie the game up when it was down to the wire, and he produced.  He has to feel good about that.

I also thought he did a much better job of punting, and I hope we continue to use him -  I wasn't concerned at all when we had to punt after the first couple of times, something I couldn't say from last year until last night.

Go Bulls!

We also added a walk-on recently, I thought.  I figured he wouldn't be used due the the pressure of playing at Auburn, but Teachey's been around a while

Placekicker scored 8 points last night. We won by 6. Would it be too much to ask to save the ******** and moaning until it actually costs us a game ....? As it's been pointed out, teams have been successful without a solid kicker.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
