In the "100 days to Bulls Football" countdown, TheBullsPen.com invites discussion on players wearing the numbers 99 to 1.

We're less than 1 day away from kickoff of the 2007 season.

The number 1 was and/or is worn by the following Bulls:

Charlie Jackson................................1997-2000

Joe Morgan ..............................................2001

C.J. Lewis ........................................2002-2004

Sidney Simpson ...............................2002-2004

Courtney Denson.....................................2005

Please post your comments, thoughts and reflections on these Bulls as we countdown the days final hours until kickoff vs. Elon in Raymond James Stadium on September 1, 2007

Charlie was the first Bull to ever touch the ball in a real football game.  He fielded the opening kickoff against Kentucky Wesleyan of the opening game.

sorry for the double post, but this had to be said twice!!

go Bulls!

and a chance to reminisce about some of our previous players.

I have fond memories of Charlie Jackson running sideline to sideline on his punt/kickoff returns drawing illegal block in the back penalties left and right...

Hey JoeB the USF media guide says that USF's first ever play was on defense.  I think USF kicked off to Kentucky Wesleyan.  Maybe Charlie returned or fair caught the first punt?

Normal

Doesn't the 10 year DVD say that we didn't have a kicking tee, but it wasn't an immediate issue because Ky. Wesleyan was kicking off to us first?

It's a shame C.J Lewis couldnt get more playing time.  He could run like hell but couldn't catch the **** ball.  He looked like he would get some PT in 03 but was hampered by a foot injury.

In the early days, Charlie Jackson was my toddler's (first son's) favorite player...and The Sheriff was nice enough to get a Charlie Jackson autograph for him.  Charlie Jackson WAS Bulls Football for all my son knew...
