Bands are such an intricate part of college tradition. The Herd of Thunder is very good, but there are some marching bands out there that are worth seeing even if the team isn't that year. Here are my picks.

HOT:

Texas A&M, Amazing military band, we could learn something from them. A must see:

Navy, small but good:

U. Tenn. Pride of the Southland:

Don't forget the Best **** Band in the Land. It's amazing when Ohio State does the script Ohio.

if you can find a good video the Pride's pregame routine (one of the many traditions at UT, ending with running through the T as seen below), it is just as amazing.  i never thought anything involving a marching band could be entertaining until I came here.

There is nothing like a marching band. Does HOT have anything new or exciting coming up this year?

Ohio State hands down as far a BCS teams. I saw them last year and they were unbelievable.

HOT is good, but they are young and have a lot of work to be mentioned with the Best **** Band in the Land.

Notre Dame's band is at the top of the list.  No doubt about it.

It  might not be the "best" marching band, but my favorite to watch.

As a former tuba player, there is nothing like the dotting of the "I" at OSU...

And boy do I hate OSU...

I have to go with the FSU Marching Chiefs. A lot of tradition in that band, and one of the better music schools in the country.

First time I went to an FSU game, this gave me the goosebumps... of course, I also went to Lake Gibson, and we were Mini-FSU. We played Come On and Go, Fanfare to the Tribe, and Garnet and Gold was our Fight Song.
