I stand corrected. Less than 1 percent ever get drafted. And out of the 1% that get drafted, less than 10% makes it to the Major Leagues!

NP.  Some interesting stats in the Rays blog on TBO.  Looks like 4.9% of drafted Rays have made it, 10% of those that were drafted and signed (only about 50% sign).   Since the Rays haven't been around long, they have a bunch of guys still in their sytem that were drafted.  On the other hand, given the Rays finances, they probably promote more than the average number of minor leaguers.  Many of the unsigned will be drafted again.

Three recruits went early: Almonte, Navarro and Nieves, but Greg notes that AJ Regelo (sp?) did not go in the first 10 rounds, which is good for us.

I know that a couple of pitchers, Carlin and Stultz, went in the second half of the draft.
