Weiss or Weizen=white (refers to color, not calories).

Dunkel=Dark

So, Tucher Weizen would be classified as light, I guess.  It's a wheat beer that is top-fermented without yeast.  It has plenty of carbonation, as you'll even find bits of foam in an empty glass.  It's creamy, a little on the sweet side, and goes down smoooooooooooth!

Would you compare it to a Boddington's?  Maybe Harp?  What about the alcohol content - about the same as American, or will it knock me on my butt?

I have never had a "real" German beer, and I want to watch my limits whilst in a new town...lol

Alcohol content is 5.3%, I think.  I was wrong about one thing in my earlier description.  It is, in fact, brewed with yeast, which gives it a touch of cloudiness.  I am not really familiar with the two beers you mentioned, though I'm fairly certain it is not like Harp.  I have never really been a fan of German beer, preferring English bitter beer instead, but Tucher Weizen draft is one I really do like and recommend.

T-Man, any idea what time your leaving Tampa on Friday?

I like the 2pm Saturday idea. That caravan should be VERY LONG and VERY LOUD!

GO BULLS!

Ich liebe Berliner Kindl Weisse. Das ist ein sehr gutes Bier, although the alcohol level is not even 3% I think.
