That hit by Ford was on Gachette, I BULLieve ... you could tell Ford was feeling it on that play and the TD that followed. Looked Great !

I was pleasantly surprised about Cannon.

We are deep with talent at RB and feel much better about the position than last year. And Plancher will be back in the summer.

Go BULLS !!!

One year, no real game breaking running backs. This year we're loaded. I don't get it.

Plancher? Plancher? Plancher?

We had plancher last year, but he had an ACL tear on his first play of his career.  The other were redshirting.  It all makes sense.  Add in Ford to that mix and the depth is great.

after watching the spring game, you can see this guy will be awesome wants he gets back into complete football shape.

You could see him gaining confidence and becoming more fluid as he got more carries. He is fast and packs a punch when he meets the defense

I'm not sure how Ford is going to look at the Auburn game, but by the third or 4th game of the year I think he'll be awesome.  I don't think it's gonna take him long to get the runing aspect down.  He may need some work on the blocking schemes.

His size is an added dimension we have never really has here.  Once we have the combo of Grothe having the option to hand off to Ford or keeping it himself and we can spread the field a little bit, it's going to be real fun to watch him going one on one with a LB or DB.

Ford is a stud. I know the Bulls will go into the season thinking we will have a running back by committee approach. My guess is by the West Virginia game we will be back to one dominant rusher, like when Andre Hall was here, and his name will be Mike Ford. Go Bulls!

I agree. The stats on this link tell all.

http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=864881

Samuels - 58 yards on 14 carries = 4.14 avg yds

Cannon - 47 yards on 8 carries = 5.88 avg yds

Ford - 55 yards on 8 carries = 6.88 avg yds

The above stats show that we have good running backs for 2007.

GRYDWLGUKQJXUCA.20070415005818.jpg

And speaking of stats:

Redshirt freshman Carlton Mitchell, five catches for 51 yards.

Grothe: 18 of 34 for 179 yards without an interception.

Gregory: 14 of 26 for 154 yards and two interceptions.

The QB stats really don't tell the story of the Spring, both QB's improved and sure we'll see much of the same two for Elon.

true-- one of his interceptions was a batted ball at the line by Selvie

the other was in desparation at the end of the game.

Gregory held his own. He isn't pushing Grothe that hard but he also isn't terrible on the other hand. He has to get more work in and improve but that is typical for any backup.

Depth at QB and RB.  This is unreal.
