[K_L I love your spinning.

Not including this season K-State averaged over 7,000 fans the last ten years...

1997 - 8200

1998 - 8500

1999 - 9100

2000 - 8300

2001 - 7100

2002 - 5900

2003 - 7100

2004 - 7300

2005 - 7500

2006 - 7600

Yes they have made a significant jump in attendance (12,100) but they have been around .500 the last 4 years and they are in a basketball hotbed.

I guarentee Huggins would have only increased attendance a little here, not enough to offset the $1.2M it would have cost for him.

Basketball hotbed?

KSU has only been to the NCAA's TWICE since 1991!!

That doesn't sound like a basketball hotbed to me.

Also, KSU's previous coach during his 6-7 year reign at KSU, the Wildcats never finished higher than 7th in Big 12 Standings and NEVER made it to the post-season (not even a NIT bid).

KSU hasn't really made much noise on a regular basis since the Lon Kruger/Mitch Richmond days of the late 80's.

Oh...I apologize for not writing down the exact KSU attendance average for this year...went back...looked it up...and after their last home game on Saturday...their season average ended up being 12,479..as I knew it was close to 12,500...and obviously off your 12,100 figure.

In regards to KSU getting Huggins, remember, many folks think KSU had to pay a PREMIUM to get Huggins...because of their remote location and all the new rules that hurts their recruiting (no more private/charter jets for recruits to their small airport..most have to fly into KC's Airport, basically 2 hours away!

USF might of been able to sign Huggins for less.

That's because you're too stupid to comprehend what the term "hotbed" means. It's got nothing to with winning. It's about the popularity of the sport. The team never finished higher than 7th in conf and never made it to post-season yet they averaged over 7K per game during that time. They had almost 7K season ticket holders the year before Huggy took over. Maybe you're just too basketball ignorant to understand what that kind of attendance means for a team that sucks...   [smiley=loser.gif]

FYI...there are many teams in the country that play (or played) in 1/2 empty arenas. (Well, USF fans wouldn't know what that would be like).

Are they hotbeds too?

No you moron, KSU is surrounded by big time basketball schools. Kansas,  Witchita State, Mizzou...

The center of college basketball used to be out of Kansas City...Their biggest rival (Kansas) is good at what sport?

Just because they haven't been good doesn't mean the region all the sudden forgets what basketball is. It's like football in Florida... :loser
