HB don't be a jacka$$, I guess by your brilliant logic, the cards have the weakest schedule because they play no one ranked higher than them. What a bunch of wussies scheduling a bunch of softees.

For what reason did we schedule the following teams...was it because we want to impress people or was it because we want to go to a bowl game?

87 North Carolina

97 Central Florida

102 Florida Atlantic

67 Elon (Div 1-AA)

Ok let's settle this. On the left is UConn's schedule, on the right is USFs.

Louisville = Louisville

West Virginia = West Virginia

Rutgers < Auburn

USF = Rutgers

Cincinnati = Cincinnati

Pitt = Pitt

Syracuse = Syracuse

Virginia > UConn

Akron < UNC

Duke < UCF

Temple < FAU

Maine > Elon

Thats not what I'm saying Hauling, and you know it. Specficially their OOC schedule is just terrible. Add Syracuse and either Pitt or Cincy (one will have a rough year) and you just have a soft schedule.

Yes, they play four potential top 25 teams, but the schedule is 12 games deep. They play 5 bowl teams from last year...

Comparing their schedule to teams in other conferences that fir their profile.

That is not a fair comparison.

Mississippi State - 8 Bowl teams (1 OOC bowl team)

10-20-07 at West Virginia

Wazzou: 7 Bowl Teams (1 OOC Bowl team)

9-15-07 IDAHO

NC State - 8 bowl Teams (2 OOC bowl teams)

9-29-07 LOUISVILLE

10-20-07 at East Carolina

Yes, I think USF has scheduled light at times and continues to do so. Teams like Kansas, UNC, NC State, and Indiana are nice games against BCS opponents but they all share the same common trait. They are schools where basketball comes 1st and always will; football will never be great consistently.

However, USF does have games against Auburn, Miami, and Florida scheduled, so it's not like they are trying to ignore big time programs, it's just the matter that they won't sign a 1 and 1 with us. That will be solved with winning and attendance.

No team wants to really come in and sell out RJS (making USF money) for us when they can bring in St Mary's School for the Blind to their own venue and assure a sellout.

However, looking at UConn's future schedule, it contains UNC and Baylor. However they have a 6 year contractc with Temple...and don't play a team that has had consistent success until Iowa in 2013.

If USF is scheduling like UConn in a few years then I'll be a lil more upset.

Why? The Big east only plays 7 conference games the SEC plays 8 and Pac 10 plays 9.

The Big East teams should have to play that extra OOC BCS team in order to keep pace for SOS reasons.

Further, UConn is playing no OOC bowl teams.

Nothing wrong with playing a UNC.  They are a BCS team that just is not great right now.  I think we should have one of these type teams on our schedule every year.  And from the looks of it, we're trying to do that with the Indiana's, Michigan States, and the NC State's in future years.  Hopefully we'll be able to add some others from the SEC, ACC, and Big 10.

It amazes me always when people complain about our schedule ... the same people would have been upset if we scheduled Wake for the 2006 season ... you do not know what kind of team you will be playing in the years following the contract.

But back to the original post ... you have a pretty good bet though that Temple & Duke will be "easy" for a BCS team.

Go BULLS !!!
