exactly.

people do tend to get worked up about the life decisions of 17-18 year old kids.

you really have to wait until august to see if the hype is deserved.  a lot of times you do have kids that come into a program with all the stars, ratings, etc and don't amount to crap, or they get kicked off the team because they can't figure out that this isnt high school anymore and just because they have talent doesnt mean they will play and get the ball (fred rouse example at FSU)

i think it just gives people who miss football season something to root for, even if, in the end it doesnt mean much.

plus if it wasnt for recruiting junkie's then scout and rivals wouldnt exsist and some people around here wouldnt have jobs.

being a leavitt supporter i see why you need to wait before you get excited

It's all about the building process. It's fascinating to me.

I love it because i like having an idea of who coming in to potentially help us in the future.  Its the same reaon why i after signing day my attention will turn to the NFL draft and whats going on there.  I like to have an early heads up on who is gunna be helping my team in the future.  I also like to to get to as many high school games as possible to see our recruits and even some of the "blue chips" that go to other programs just to see the talent.  I dunno im just a football nerd who follows everything football related i can get my grubby little hands and eyes on.

We need the next Luther Campbell (think 2LiveCrew for all you young pups)roaming the USF sidelines... Uncle Luke brought recruits to the U... Snoop brings recruits to USC... its an image thing. Get a gansta rapper on your sidelines, and they will come!
