I was never excited about getting Marve, didnt think it would happen. I do think he would be making a better decision going to Bama than Miami. I dont think he fits Miami's style of QB.

Im more excited about Ford because thats a BIG need in our program right now. I think QB is fine with Grothe,Gregory and Voss comming in.

I think we will land another name QB next year.

And next year will be more of a "need". Expect us to really try and get 2 QB's.

Why don't you ask Marve if he was working out at the YMCA and talking to some dude about where he was going to sign....

I really don't think my friend is trying to make stuff up.

Saban likes dual threat quarterbacks with NFL size (he did recruit JaMarcus Russell when he was with LSU).  So I don't know how someone like Marve who doesn't have NFL size (although his dad is 6'3" and his mom is tall so he may grow some more) and who states that he wants to go to a pro style offense would fit better into the Alabama offensive scheme than Miami's.  Miami also likes the NFL sized QB's but at 6'-1.5" Marve isn't quite there.  Miami and Alabama will also be recruiting those large guys and could bring in someone next year who could knock him out of his slot to play consistently at those programs.  Therefore, I think he has a surer opportunity at USF to have an impact and play consistently.  I think he can work into being a dual threat guy because he has some size and speed.  

I hope Gregory gets to contribute more next year if we don't get Marve (I think he probably will go to Alabama).
