SillyHole is saying that it will be Rick "the gambler" Neuheisel......

and that means that it won't be him.....

Neuheisel would be interesting. On a related UM side note, isn't Dennis Erickson still coaching Idaho? I wonder why his name isn't being tossed around.

Because Erickson won two Natl Titles and left UM on probation. A mess that Butch Davis had to clean up.

next UM coach is Bobby Petrino ........

JMHO............

No way.  None of the Big East coaches will leave for any reason.  The ACC is a hole of a conference now and Miami is a dead-end.  The expectations are so high that they can never be lived up to without winning a NC.  The Big East offers a lot of exposure, great competition, BCS tie-ins, and a chance for a NC....as we have seen this year.  None of the BE coaches would be dumb enough to jump ship.

I don't think Petrino goes, but for other reasons. like 25 Million of them, Miami doesn't have the money of most big named schools. They can compete but not with that contract.

However to say no BE coach goes anywhere is a lil jaded. Miami is a TOP 5 job in the country, they have decent football facilities, they have the BEST recruiting region in the USA, and have a GREAT reputation of not only putting guys in the NFL but making them stars.

Coaches leave good situations or programs all the time for best jobs. They don't care about expectations, because they believe they CAN and WILL turn those programs around.

Saban left a great situation at Michigan State where he was held as a hero for having Michigan State on the brink of being a top 10 team. Instead of taking a raise and being king of that town (they have had 2 winning seasons in the 7 years since he left) he took a job at 3-8 LSU. Why? For the same reasons Schiano will bite on the Miami job, it might have higher expectations, but it is an easier place to win, the talent is better, and it's a top 10 job in football.

Dennis Erickson made a similar move from Wazzou to Miami in the 80s.

Coaches leave "great situations" for really bad situations at Top Programs all the time:

Willingham from Stanford to ND

Barnett from NWern to Colorado

Price from Wazzou to Alabama (we know what happened there)

Mac Brown from UNC to Texas (He was a top 5 team when he left UNC)

I agree with you, but these two were fired first.
