I agree with that.  As I said, they need to stop running him needlessly in certain situations.  I still think Rod makes some very bizarre playcalls.  This time it all worked out.  Live by the sword... i guess.  overall he called a good game and I think just as the team is maturing and getting better each week, he is as well.

while you guys are at it, go on WVU's board and tell Pat White to stop running designed plays because he's obviously rushing too much if he's getting 247 rushing yards like he did today.  We don't need them losing that BCS bid by him getting injured...

No, he can run until we play them...then he needs to be a pocket passer...with a torn rotator, and blind in one eye.

Wonder how WVU feels about their backup QB?  I guess better than we do.  Or maybe White is more cutout for taking hits than MG.  Maybe they need that aspect to win...maybe we don't.  MG's passing is more valuable.  What usfgrad84 says is right, but I'd hate to see MG hurt...twice in last two games he's down, but gets up.  The time he does not answer the bell, we have big problems.

The way he reacts, it seems he is more upset than hurt.

I think the QB runs have already been reduced.  I want them to remain but maybe Grothe could get down a little sooner.  Hard to tell him that when he breaks tackles at times for more yards, though.

The QB runs are essential to our offensive effectiveness for a variety of reasons. While I don't think they should be completely eliminated, cutting them back is a pretty good idea. You have to keep in mind that the QB-keeper keeps the defense honest. It opens up more for our running backs and WR's. With the threat of Grothe taking off, the LB's have to stay on their toes and play a step up, this opens up the crossing routes to our WR;s (Amarri, C. Hill, and even the FB today).
