I see a trip to Omaha in our near future....

USF Lands Palm Beach Central OF

TAMPA - Palm Beach Central outfielder A.J. Rejoli, ranked the 65th-best high school senior prospect by Baseball America, verbally committed to the University of South Florida.

Rejoli, who is the 11th commitment for new USF coach Lelo Prado, chose USF over Miami, LSU and N.C. State.

"We were intrigued by the new coaching staff at USF," said Areo Rejoli, A.J.'s father. "A.J. wants to play as a freshman, and he should have a real good chance to start."

A four-year starter at Palm Beach Central, Rejoli hit .347 with four home runs and 21 RBIs in 30 games as a junior. At the Florida Power Showcase Home Run Derby in Delray Beach two weeks ago, Rejoli hit the event's longest home run, a 492-foot shot.

Rejoli is one of four USF commitments for next season that are ranked among Baseball America's top 160 high school senior prospects.

Don't get your hopes up yet, wait to see who actually makes it on campus.  Most of these kids will be drafted, so it's a complete toss up on whether they will ever play for USF or not

I went in 2001 to see the Canes it is a cool event. Hope I go when the Bulls go.

They don't give out invites to Omaha in October people.  You still have to win some games if memory serves.

I can say for the first time as a Bulls fan I am looking forward to baseball season.  I will not have unrealistic expectations, but I will enjoy watching the changes in direction.

Also, for softball, I became a fan last year when I was able to watch them on TV out here.

Looking forward to both.
