The announcers were pro-rutgers. As mentioned, I was sick of "Rice-Heisman" and "1976". The one thing that really got under my skin was when at the end of the game they said, "I think this game proves they are for real and are really a top 25 program now." What game were they watching? Or are they getting some favors just like the refs?

Quit blaming the refs please.

Rutgers is in the LARGEST Tv market in the US, why the hell WOULDN'T ESPN pump them a little.

And they are a 5-0 BCS team, what more do you have to do to be in the top 25?

ESPN has to hype something to get people to watch the game.  the historic run by rutgers is a good thing for them to promote.  the play-by-play guy kept trying to hype Rice for heisman, but the analyst sure werent.  but what the hell shouldnt he be considered for heisman, he's that good.

as for that game proving they are really a top 25 program...well, they won, and that implies we are a good team.  i agree with them.

I think Grothe won a lot of respect from most fans that watched that game which is a good thing for the program. If anything that we can take from having that game on ESPN2 is that the BIG EAST has some good teams besides WVU and UL. No more of this BIG EAST bashing from them. USF in time will get their due when we start winning consistantly.

You have to give me a 24 hour cool down, so until then I'm still going to be taking my shots at the zebras. As well as the certain aspects of the team.

As for the top 25, I'm not arguing that they shouldn't be in the top 25, I'm saying they made Rutgers seem like they should be a annual team in the polls and that they are in it for the long haul to challenge UL and WV this season.

No problem at all with them pumping up Rutgers. It's good for the BE ....... We'll get our share in the future.

That's sort of an indirect compliment to USF as well.  If RU would have beat UCF, or Rice by 2pts they wouldn't be saying they are a real top 25 program.  Again, I rather think of us losing to a legit top 25 team, than to a mediocre and overrated team.
