That's about as sure as Syracuse in the Sugar Bowl.

Getting into the polls is a function of public relations more than it is quantitative measurement of qualitative strength/success. That's still something we're going to have to work on for a long time. 10-0? Maybe we'd break Top 25. Beat Louisville after that and we sure will. But I don't think we'll sniff votes at 5-0 given our conference's popular perception and our strength of schedule coupled with our lack of history.

Beat KU on the road and we will start to get a couple votes.  Beat RU and we get lots of votes, but it will probably take 6-0 to get into top 25.  Of course I hope I am wrong.  I hope RU is top 25 when they play us.  Could happen, they are starting to get some respect.

Why don't we worry about trying to get to 4-0 first?

Kansas on the road is no sure thing.  We don't exactly appear invincible at the moment.

getting to 5-0 should get us votes.  I doubt we'll get top 25.

Rutgers is getting votes because their coach is out getting PR (Rome show, etc.). Now that most teams will begin conference play the rankings will become more accurate. If we continue to improve we should beat Kansas who just lost to Toledo and barely beat La-Monroe. Rutgers is very beatable, particularly at Ray Jay. Grothe and our D is getting noticed around the country. With that, we'll start getting the respect we deserve.

Rugters wont come into the game ranked, they are playing a terrible opponent so a W wont net them anywhere enough votes to be ranked unless several bottom of the ladder to 25 teams suffer losses.
